National Philoptochos Society Signs Contract For Purchase of Permanent Home

NEW YORK – Under the Spiritual Leadership of His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, the National Philoptochos completed the contract signing to purchase a building in New York City to be known as the Philoptochos Center of Philanthropy. Present at the signing was His Grace Bishop Sevastianos, National Philoptochos Spiritual Advisor. Representing National Philoptochos were Aphrodite Skeadas, National President; Joanne Kakoyiannis, National Treasurer; Anita Kartalopoulos, National Legal Advisor; Helen Lavorata, Director and Mona L. National Philoptochos Distributes $160,000 for Aid to The People of Greece

National Philoptochos President Aphrodite Skeadas announced today that donations totaling $160,000 from Philoptochos Chapters and friends of Philoptochos nationwide for the Philoptochos Appeal are being distributed to five organizations in Greece for the relief of our brethren suffering due to the sever economic crisis. These funds are in addition to the $25,000 donation offered in February 2012 from the National Philoptochos Emergency Fund expedited through IOCC that provided medical supplies and food staples to the people affected by the economic crisis. National Philoptochos Holds Spring Meeting - Bishop Sevastianos Named National Philoptochos Spiritual Advisor

National Philoptochos President Aphrodite Skeadas convened the Spring National Board Meeting in Atlanta, GA on March 16, 2012 in conjunction with the Metropolis of Atlanta Philoptochos “Open the Doors” Luncheon to benefit the Philoptochos Center of Philanthropy. President Skeadas announced with pleasure that His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios appointed His Grace Bishop Sevastianos of Zela to serve as the National Philoptochos Advisor. OVER 650 GUESTS PARTICIPATE IN SUCCESSFUL PHILOPTOCHOS CHILDREN’S MEDICAL FUND LUNCHEON

The Thirteenth National Philoptochos Children’s Medical Fund Luncheon was held Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Old Greenwich, CT with more than 650 attendees from throughout the United States. The event entitled “Let Us Rejoice and Embrace the Children,” was organized by the National Philoptochos and the Direct Archdiocesan District Philoptochos under the high patronage of His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America and with the spiritual blessings of His Grace Bishop Andonios of Phasiane.
