Victims of the fast-moving blaze continue to deal with the impact of the fires and the need for assistance is great. In her plea to chapters and stewards, National Philoptochos President Maria Logus stated that “the generosity of Philoptochos is well known and much appreciated throughout the world. Our brothers and sisters in Greece need our love and our support at this time and once again, Philoptochos will answer their plea.” In expressing his gratitude for the outpouring of generous support, His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, Geron of America, observed that “These gifts of love will assist our brethren to help them rebuild their homes and livelihoods and will also be a witness of the strong bonds of Faith and heritage that we share with the people of Greece, especially in such times of tragedy.”
