Elaine, a life-long resident of Lynn, Massachusetts, attends St. Vasilios Church, Peabody, and St. George Church, Lynn, where she graduated from Greek School and Sunday School.  She matriculated at Lynn English High School and earned her B.A. in Art History and English at Simmons College, Boston, and her MBA at Salem State University.  She has also earned certificates in leadership from the Executive Education programs at Babson College, MIT Sloan School, and Simmons University, as well as a Certificate in Paralegal Studies from Bentley University.

Elaine began her professional career as a photo researcher at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and then joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston (the Boston Fed) where she enjoyed a highly successful career of 36 years.  At the Boston Fed, Elaine assumed increasing management responsibility, starting in the Legal Department, and advancing to the Budget and Planning area, during which time she was assigned as a Special Assistant to the Federal Reserve Board of Governors.  Upon her return from Washington, she was promoted to Manager in Cash Services and then to Public Affairs & Media Relations Manager, where she was instrumental in advising on currency operations issues during Y-2K and the 9/11 crisis.  Subsequently, she was promoted to Assistant Corporate Secretary to the Board of Directors and Manager of the President’s Office and Corporate Affairs, and then to Corporate Secretary and Chief of Staff to President Cathy Minehan, followed by President Eric Rosengren, a role in which she served until her retirement in 2016.

Elaine has been an active volunteer for many years in a variety of charitable organizations: as a life-member of Girls Scouts USA; past member of the United Way of Boston Women’s Leadership Council, the American Heart Association Go Red for Women Leadership Circle, and the Hellenic Women’s Benevolent Association Board of Trustees.  She has held various offices in the Simmons College Alumnae Association and at present is a member of the 125th Anniversary Campaign Committee.  She has served on the Board of Overseers of Salem State University (SSU) and as an advisory member to the Board of Trustees, and is currently a member of the SSU Foundation Board, serving on the Audit & Finance Committee.

Elaine is a member of the Board of Trustees of the St. Photios Greek Orthodox National Shrine.  Additionally, she is a long-time member of the North Shore Hellenic Women’s Guild, where she has served as president, vice president, treasurer, board member, and advisor.  She was an active member, treasurer, and past president of the Volunteer Women of Hellenic College Holy Cross, and has been a member of the St. George Church Parish Council and was Treasurer of St. George Philoptochos.  Currently she is Assistant Treasurer of the St. Vasilios Philoptochos chapter.  

A member of the Metropolis of Boston Philoptochos Board, Elaine has served as Metropolis Board president, advisor, and treasurer, and was Co-Chair of the 2018 National Philoptochos Convention in Boston.  She has been a National Philoptochos Board member since 2017 and is the Co-chair of the Procedures Manual Committee.

Elaine is a steward of St. George Church, Lynn, MA, and of St. Vasilios Church, Peabody, MA.
